Humpback Whales
A steady part of our helicopter
fun has been working with our friends restoring the St. George Reef lighthouse.
It was on a trip to Crescent City that we
first came
across the incredible experience possible watching
whales off the California coast. The photos here
should give you some idea of just how amazing the experience can
be from a helicopter.
The California Humpback Whales migrate
from their winter mating areas near Mexico to their summer
and fall feeding areas off California. I've seen some amazing shows
from these whales who are considered to be the most aerobatic of the
whales in the world. The opportunity to look for and see them is
from around April to November of each year.
