Fall 2004 Whirled Tour

During October 2004, Matty Chopper attempted the first helicopter world tour ever to be completed in less than 3 weeks.

We chronicled our trip with photos and video to see it all click here.

Unfortunately, much of the trip shown below didn't happen.  But we did get to say hello to a bunch of people and had some fun.

South America

Join us as we see the sights above Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, the Galapagos Islands and More!!  We understand the South America is lovely this time of the year so we don't plan on missing a single country, mountain, or coastal destination.  We're especially interested in seeing the Sao Palo heliport which is one of the largest helicopter destinations in the world.  We are of course going to spend time in Peru touring the ruins and Columbia working with the government to help with the cocaine trafficking problems there.  If we're lucky we'll get actual live footage of major cartel employees as they fire their automatic weapons at us!!  Should be exhilarating.

Africa

The African Elephant has always been a symbol of strength for us.  We're hoping to see some of these wonderful animals.  As you may know, with mankind building more and more, the natural habitat for the elephants has been dwindling.  We've been in touch with the Southern Tootsie Organization Managing People and Elephant Movement (STOMP EM) which is as you may know one of the key associations for elephant rights.  We are planning to help in their annual event to draw attention to the elephant issues.  We will be participating in this years  "Village Trot" event.  Each year a small village is selected to be the "Trot Village" which is apparently quite an honor.  Then, volunteers release a wild herd of African elephants that trample the village and destroy everything in their way.  Should be exciting.

China

One of the highlights of the trip will be our visit to the Great wall of China.  While we don't actually have permission from the Chinese government to fly over the great wall, we're confident that once we get there, the local Chinese government will provide us with the warm reception that they're so famous for.
Actually, come to think of it, we don't have permission to fly into anywhere in China so we may actually get the opportunity to flim an actual in flight interception with some representatives from the Chinese Airforce, all the more fun!!  While in China, we plan to seek out the origin of Chinese chicken salad and those darn fortune cookies.  More on that as the story unfolds.
